چکیده

We propose an analysis of the impossibility results in judgement aggregation by means of a proof-theoretical approach to collective rationality. In particular, we use linear logic in order to analyse the group inconsistencies and to show possible ways to circumvent them.

Is Majority Consistency Possible? By

The most well-known approaches to decision rules are inspired by "majority-based" and "ranking-based” utilitarianism. The long lasting discussion on the appropriate collective decision mechanism is based on the merits of the rules consistent with these two approaches. Focusing on conformity with qualified majority, we propose SingleApproval Multiple-Rejection (SAMR) as a plausible flexible scor...

On Mining Fuzzy Classification Rules for Imbalanced Data

Fuzzy rule-based classification system (FRBCS) is a popular machine learning technique for classification purposes. One of the major issues when applying it on imbalanced data sets is its biased to the majority class, such that, it performs poorly in respect to the minority class. However many cases the minority classes are more important than the majority ones. In this paper, we have extended ...

Positional rules and q-Condorcet consistency

A well-known result in Social Choice theory is the following: every scoring rule (positional rules) violates Condorcet consistency. A rule is Condorcet consistent when it selects the alternative that is preferred to every other alternative by a majority of individuals. In this paper, we investigate some limits of this negative result. We expose the relationship between a weaker version of the C...

Corporate Voting

I introduce a model of corporate voting. I characterize the shareholder majority rule as the unique corporate voting rule that satisfies four axioms: anonymity, neutrality, share monotonicity, and merger, a property that requires consistency in election outcomes following stock-for-stock mergers.   The ultimate goals of the monetary policy are price stability and the output growth. Monetary policy instruments are interest rate and the growth rate of monetary base. One of the well-known rules in conducting monetary policy is Taylor rule, through which, central banks change the interest rate while taking into account the output and inflation distortions. There are two problems with applyi...
